I went and saw James Hunter last night at the Thornbury Theater, (who was amazing!) and was very excited to hear him preform one of my current fav songs of the minuet, Down Home Girl.
The song has been around. Done originally by Alvin Robinson, then The Rolling Stones and The Coasters, but most recently Old Crow Medicine Show; who gave it the gin-u-ine 'down home' southern treatment!
...and while we are on Old Crow Medicine Show...

Blue Man Group
We decided to paint Chelsea blue for some images for her Hear The Bell's project, The very talented Gina took the shot's, and I styled.
Gina and I both feel a lot closer to Chelsea after painting her entire body blue...

Since we were all dressed up and had nowhere to go, we decided to go and pay our good ol' friend Nellie a visit at her workplace in Brighton. This face still haunts her dreams...

We also shocked ALOT of fellow drivers. It's quite surprising we didn't cause an accedent...

Oil Pastel
Pencils
Painting
I didn't really get into painting until I left school... I think I liked the ease of oil pastels and sticks, not so much setting/ cleaning up, and not so messy. I have a pretty short attention span, so if something doesn't come together relatively quickly I give up. Its the Aries in me...
Although, when I wasn't so lazy, I really loved getting out the paint brushes. The mess was worth it!
This is a close up, the original shows Julia in a flower garden, but it was too reflective to get a good shot of the entire composition...

From My Scetch Book
These are a few sketches from my book. I was very good at articulating what I was doing!
I did this picture of my friend Chelsea when we were on a VERY long train to Frankston.
Chelsea, Grey Lead Pencil

Self Portrait, Pen and Water Color

I cut this from my yr 9 School diary... I thought it was pretty funny!

More Self Portraits...
I did a series 3 big self portraits on poly styrene as a final for my Studio Art Drawing class. It took a lot of developmental work and I had to do alot of testing on the best paint/ technique/ photos ect to use for the finals. The actual finals ended up in the school cafe. I feel sorry for the customers who had to sit there trying to enjoy there meals and had me staring down at them....
These are some of the developments...
I ended up using a similar color/ image/ aesthetic to this one...only ALOT bigger!
